Infrastructure Maintenance, Problem & Change Manager EMEA

Our client’s company is a reliable provider of colocation and connectivity services with the best and most sustainable digital solutions. The initial location is Germany with 10 distributed Edge data centers, followed by other data centers in the Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland and Switzerland. Currently they have 30+ edge locations.

The data centers will also be integrated into a future-oriented energy infrastructure, which will contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions in the generation, heating, and gas sectors through sector coupling. Thus, the function of data centers in Europe as an innovative lever for reducing coal and a stabilizing part of green energy infrastructure is being redefined from the ground up.

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Maintenance, Problem & Change Manager who will be the point of contact for SME (Subject Matter Expert) Support on any Maintenance, Change and Problem Management related topic’s and support the local site teams on any technical assets or Systems issue of the data center Infrastructure. Also, this person will be assisting in customer related technical topics or RFI/RFP questions.

Function

 

Operations Standards

  • Implement an EMEA Maintenance process/program and a review process
  • Define Maintenance Standards and develop a condition-based maintenance program
  • Implement an EMEA Incident, Change and Escalation management process and establish a route cause review and action items for resolution
  • Identify Problems and Risks associated with site operations
  • Use this data to mitigate, remediate and avoid impacting incidents

 

Support of Data Center Design

  • Supporting the Construction design team on Operational identified problems to drive related design changes
  • Advise local Operations team on operational impact of changes & specifications based identified problems

 

Support Sales & Customer Fit-Out

  • Inform Sales / SE team on Customer impacting major change activities
  • Support customer questions or RFI/RFP answers specific to maintenance, change and problem management

 

Systems and Systems Support

  • Develops knowledge of and learns business systems (e.g., Itop, BMS) within the company to assist site team to ensure required assets are captured and properly mapped between systems.
  • Drive for automation for Maintenance, Change and Problem management

 

Documentation

  • Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented and Tickets are created
  • Identify missing System functionality and drive tools enhancements to solve it
  • Be part of the development of an Audit ready documentation management system

 

Training

  • Develop an EMEA Maintenance Training plan together with the local OPS leads
  • Develop Trainings for new technology of data center facilities

 

Job Requirements

  • Electrical Engineering, Engineering power/controls background (certified Engineer preferred), including LV and MV, cooling systems
  • Relevant management experience within critical infrastructure, preferably in operations of data centres
  • Deep technical knowledge.
  • Proven experience in helping operational teams for Maintenance, Change and Problem Management
  • Ability to explain complex technical situations in simple terms, even to non-technical individuals
  • Experience working in cross-functional groups
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required. Fluency in Dutch, German, or other European languages is a plus.
