We are seeking a Facility (Field) Engineer who, in close consultation with the Manager of Operations and Chief Engineer, will contribute to the maintenance of technical installations and infrastructure within the data centers.
Function
Assisting in proper, timely, and under applicable processes and procedures, in the execution of activities for the equipment in the concerned data center:
Assist in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of planned maintenance, meeting all standards and procedures, by leveraging competent contractor/vendor resources with attention to quality.
Assist in monitoring and troubleshooting all electrical and mechanical systems in the data center.
Inform and brief the Chief Engineer on planned and corrective work occurring in the data center.
In concert with the Chief Engineer:
– Supervise contractors carrying out work within the Data Centre
– Be responsible for ensuring that supervised work being done by contractors/vendors is logged in the systems
– Assist with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts
– Work on 1-line equipment according to the Planned Preventive Maintenance Schedule, including a roadmap approved by the Manager of Operations and/or the Nominated person in control of an electrical installation
– During normal working hours, respond to alarms, critical situations, and emergencies promptly and appropriately. Be responsible for communicating calmly and clearly and in accordance with the emergency response plan
– Take the initiative to ensure that quality and efficiency standards are raised for all equipment in the data center. This includes finding ways to deliver cost savings to the company without sacrificing quality
Administer in a correct and timely manner all executed work following all processes and procedures:
– Administer work following the Planned Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
– Inform the Manager of Operations of performed work and any noteworthy items.
– Report all incidents under procedures.
Job Requirements
– 3 or more years of relevant work experience in data centers or other critical environments
– In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in the data center environment, including transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS & STS units, RPP units, chillers, and CRAC/CRAH units.
– Education level compliant with WEB level 4 (WEB = Dutch Adult and Vocational Training Act).
– Electro-technical training/education
– Safety for Operational Supervisors (Dutch: “Veiligheid gezondheid milieu Checklist Aannemers,” Abbreviation: “VCA”)
– Good oral and written communication skills (in Dutch and English).
– Proficient computer skills (MS Office)
– Strong administrative and cooperation skills
– Eligible to work in the Netherlands without the need for visa sponsorship
