We are seeking a Facility (Field) Engineer who, in close consultation with the Manager of Operations and Chief Engineer, will contribute to the maintenance of technical installations and infrastructure within the data centers.

Function

You will provide support and perform tasks related to equipment in the specific data center accurately, timely and in accordance with applicable processes and procedures. Such as contributing to the safe, effective and efficient execution of scheduled maintenance according to all prescribed standards and procedures, engaging competent contractors/suppliers with a focus on quality. You will also provide support in monitoring and troubleshooting all electrical and mechanical systems within the data center. You will be informed and report to the Chief Engineer on planned and corrective work taking place within the data center.

 

The following work is part of the position:
– Supervise contractors carrying out work within the Data Centre
– Be responsible for ensuring that supervised work being done by contractors/vendors is logged in the systems
– Assist with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts
– Work on 1-line equipment according to the Planned Preventive Maintenance Schedule, including a roadmap approved by the Manager of Operations and/or the Nominated person in control of an electrical installation (Dutch: “Installatie-verantwoordelijke”)
– During normal working hours, respond to alarms, critical situations, and emergencies promptly and appropriately. Be responsible for communicating in a calm and clear manner and in accordance with the emergency response plan
– Take the initiative to ensure that quality and efficiency standards are raised for all equipment in the data center. This includes finding ways to deliver cost savings to the company without sacrificing quality

 

Administer in a correct and timely manner all executed work in accordance with all processes and procedures:
– Administer work following the Planned Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
– Inform the Manager of Operations of performed work and any noteworthy items.
– Report all incidents in accordance with procedures.

Requirements

– 3 or more years of relevant work experience in data centers or other critical environments
– In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems used in the data center environment, including transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS & STS units, RPP units, chillers, and CRAC/CRAH units.
– Education level compliant with WEB level 4 (WEB = Dutch Adult and Vocational Training Act).
– Electro-technical training/education
– Safety for Operational Supervisors (“Veiligheid gezondheid milieu Checklist Aannemers,” Abbreviation: “VCA”)
– Good oral and written communication skills (in Dutch and English).
– Proficient computer skills (MS Office)
– Strong administrative and cooperation skills
– Eligible to work in the Netherlands without the need for visa sponsorship

– Full-time job, 40 hours per week
– Competitive salary starting at €3400 gross per month based on experience and knowledge
– Company car with private driving allowed; the car is assigned by DC People
– Or a mobility allowance up to €900 gross per month
