Lead Data Center Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Data Center Engineer for the Diemen location who will share responsibility for the management and maintenance of building and site installations.


  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance work and troubleshooting activities, stepping in when necessary.
  • Develop a staffing schedule with the Contract Manager, considering required skills and personnel availability, including planned maintenance, reactive work orders, and corrective work orders in the schedule.
  • Track and report performance indicators related to maintenance activities to the Contract Manager.
  • Arrange all necessary inputs for executing the work, such as work instructions, drawings, supplier instructions, special procedures, materials, and tools.
  • Communicate the necessary steps regarding HSE requirements and regulations to the team.
  • Demonstrate leadership and ensure safety during the execution of work.
  • Act as the central point of contact for questions during work execution.
  • Share responsibility for team performance reviews, appraisals, and provide advice on training and promotions.
  • Process input from the field into possible process improvements.
  • Participate in regular work meetings to discuss best practices and improvement suggestions.


  • At least a completed MBO degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 or more years of Facility Engineer experience in data centers or other critical environments.
  • Sufficient experience in management roles is a valuable asset.
  • Additional diplomas such as NEN 3140, NEN 3840, Refrigeration Technician, and/or F-Gas certificates are a plus.
  • Customer and solution-oriented.
  • Enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible.
  • Familiarity with HSE regulations, SLAs, and KPIs.
  • Strong English language skills and overall good communication skills.
  • Eligible to work in the Netherlands without the need for visa sponsorship.
